December 2013 – June 2014
I’m teaching at two camps this summer and I hope you’ll mark your calendars now and join me. I’ll be at the Montana Fiddle Camp in Monarch, MT from June 1st through the 6th. This is a great camp in a beautiful setting, and an outstanding faculty will be there at your beck and call, including our own Trevor Krieger. There will be lots of great music and fun.
The second camp is one I’m really excited about. It’s a combination guitar/fly-fishing camp with my buddy Pete Huttlinger. Pete’s one of the greatest acoustic guitarists of all time, as well as a top notch educator. This will take place at the Music Ranch in Livingston, MT from July 23rd through the 27th. Don’t miss this opportunity to study guitar in a relaxed, intimate setting with lots of recreational stuff in between. Oh yeah – bring your fishing pole.
After a beautiful Fall we’re starting to get some cooler weather, and that means it’s time to get into the recording studio. I’ve been working on some new music for an upcoming recording project with Trevor Krieger and we’re going to get the ball rolling.
It’s also worth mentioning that, after fifteen years and 300,000 miles my poor little Toyota pickup needs a new engine. I sold it to my dad and bought a newer one with low miles. I flew out to Richmond, VA to pick it up and drive it back – 2100 miles. I hope to be good to go for another fifteen years…
August is proving to be a very busy month. I’ll be doing a number of concerts as part of a Wyoming tour, beginning in Sheridan on Saturday the 3rd, then to Cody, Riverton, Rock Springs, Casper, Evanston, and winding up with two days at the Nowoodstock Festival in Tensleep. The following week I’ll be at the Keyhole Music Festival in Pine Haven. The Pollard Pub in Red Lodge is also continuing through August and also September and I’ll be there most Thursdays with a variety of the region’s best musicians.
But the most exciting thing about August is that my old buddy Pete Huttlinger is coming out this way for some concerts in Montana and will be staying with me on his way through. This is the first time in all these years he’s made it out to Wyoming and it’s going to be great seeing him again. Check his website for performances – he’s not to be missed.
